my brother and I were eating dinner today and we were having Thanksgiving leftovers and I was eating like 10 roasted potatoes and he was eating a giant plate full of mashed potatoes and he goes “we are eating all our ancestrey is made of”

and he was like “what.” and I was like “potatoes originated in North America and were brought to Ireland through the Columbian Exchange” and he just stared me dead in the eye, dumped the plate out into the trash AND SHOOK HIS HEAD THEN STORMED OUT OF THE BACK KITCHEN DOOR AND I HAVE NEVER SEEN HIM THIS UPSET OMG I THINK I RUINED HIS WHOLE LIFE I’M SORRY

this kid in my class implied that I was gullible so I told him that my grandfather was the president of Ireland, but he sucked, so we had to flee the country and who’s gullible now haaha.

wow I just can’t get over the optimism of my people
