I love how characters of the day in 1/700 episodes literally get 10x the backstory of ash, the main character of 15+ years

When I was in sixth grade I wrote a fanfiction about what the Pokemon world was like in the 19th century and how there was this girl who wanted to be a trainer, but back then it was like frowned upon that females become Pokemon trainers, but she runs off anyway against her family’s wishes and she makes friends and all this crap along the way and ends up with the rival kid who starts out sexist like the rest of them, but eventually like she earned respect from him when he sees how good she is and how much she cares about Pokemon and then she actually becomes the champion of her region and she’s the first ever female champion
and then there was a “huge plot twist” at the end where it was like
“And, I, Jennette Ketchum, am a Pokemon Master.”
And it was supposed to be like OMGGG SHE’S RELATED TO ASH GREAT GREAT GRANDMA KETCHUMMM OMGGGG PLOT TWISTTTT
And I thought I was so clever, but now it seems so dumb and I want to cry.
why the hell is there no episode of Pokemon where Team Rocket actually gets away with Pikachu and gets it back to the boss and Ash and co. have to go on a quest to retrieve it like wtf IT’S RIGHT THERE.
